Eye amulet udjat of light green-turquoise faience
Amulet was made in the shape of symbol of Ra's or Horus's eye.

Amulets of these type were made during all periods of Egyptian history. According to ancient Egypt religion, the person who wears the eye udjat had the strength and protective powers of sun and moon which were two key elements of Egyptian mythology. The eye udjat was ascribed the healing ability. According to the one version of world genesis, people were made Ra's tears.

The eye udjat was worn around the neck as a protective-magical symbol and it was put on body during the process of mummification.

It was made of light green faience. The lines of eye are in relief and painted black colour.

It is well preserved.
