Udjat eye amulet made of lightgreen-brow faience
Amulet was made in the form of the symbol of Ra's or Horus' eye with a hole. Details are carved in.

Amulets of this type were made in all periods of egyptian history. By old egyptian belief the person wearing the eye udjat obtained strength and protective powers of sun and moon, two key elements of egyptian mythology. Egyptians believed it had the ability to cure. According to one version of forming of the world people were made from the tears of god Ra.

Eye udjat was worn around the neck as a form of protective-magic symbol and was put with the body while the body was mummified.

It is well preserved.
