Sculpture of Osiris

Sculpture of Osiris
Sculpture of Osiris is made of brown baked clay. Osiris is standing and wearing an atef crown; a combination of the crown of Upper Egypt with an ostrich feather on each side.

Facial features are clearly expressed. Above his big almond eyes, eyebrows arch in two, long, relief lines. His nose is large and dominant, while his mouth protrudes slightly and is accentuated with a horizontal line.

Osiris is standing with his arms on his chest. He is holding a long flagellum in both hands that extends from the shoulders, down the arm towards the lower part of his body. He is wearing a long, tight dress with hieroglyphs on the bottom, including a cartouche of Ramesses II (1279-1212 B.C.), third ruler of the 19th dynasty.

Similar to the previous sculpture, there are traces of final processing, like polishing and clay cutting. A round plaster pedestal for Osiris was added sometime after the artifact arrived to the Museum of Slavonia.
